The Christmas Bookshop Book Review
My Views on Theme and Plot:
I am a huge fan of Jenny Colgan’s novels. There is something comforting about her stories that involve fun characters, cozy settings and heartwarming stories.
I was really excited to read a Jenny Colgan novel set in a Christmas spirit. The title itself was really fascinating.
The best part about The Christmas Bookshop, for me was that idea of saving a bookshop. I really enjoyed reading about that. Also, Colgan’s easy writing style really made the experience fun.
And I loved the setting of the book. There were so many fascinating aspects of Edinburg, and it made me feel like I was there with the characters. Plus I feel like I need to celebrate Christmas there.

The Christmas Bookshop Characters:
Each character was very different and unique. I absolutely loved Carmen’s journey. The dynamics between the two sisters were really fun to watch. Also, the love triangle involving Carmen, Blair, and Oke was also a fresh twist.
Disappointments:
Although there weren’t many characters, it was a little too difficult to follow each of them. Even the names were a little confusing to me.
Conclusion:
Overall, The Christmas Bookshop is a delightful Christmas romance set in a charming city ,narrated in an easy and light hearted way.

My Favorite Quotes From The Christmas Bookshop
Carmen followed her heart and read books wherever her interests took her, about space, history, romance, anything she felt like, alighting from one to the next like a butterfly.
I love this quotes because it really shows the change of Carmen. Also, every bookworm can relate to the quote.
People buy things in the hope that it will make them feel better,” said Blair. “It gives you a momentary boost, just buying it, but not for long. It’s just a stupid dopamine hit”
This quote is really relatable by Blair. Sometimes we buy things but the excitement is so short-lived.
