Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins


Sunrise on the Reaping is a prequel to Hunger Games that takes us back to a younger Haymitch during the 50th Hunger Games. He’s not the drunk mentor we remember, yet. He’s just a teen who’s in love, trying to survive, and then gets reaped. It’s gritty, emotional, and gives us a whole new look at who he was before Katniss ever met him.
Why readers love it: Hunger Games fans are lovering this . It’s nostalgic, intense, and gives real depth to their favorite character.

The Crash by Freida McFadden

The Crash follows Tegan, who is on the run and eight months pregnant. She thinks moving to her brother’s place will give her a fresh start. But when her car breaks down in a snowstorm and she ends up stuck in a stranger’s cabin, her problems get way worse. The couple seems kind—at first—but the longer she stays, the more things feel off.
Why readers love it: People say it was super tense, fast-paced, and totally binge-worthy. However, to be honest, this wasn’t my favorite Freida McFadden book. I loved the twists, but compared to the rest of her books, this one felt a bit underwhelming.

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry



Great Big Beautiful Life is about Alice and Hayden , who want to write the story of a mysterious woman who was once a tabloid queen. They’re stuck together on an island, each trying to win over Margaret Ives, who’s only giving half-truths and playing games. While chasing the story, they also start catching feelings which seriously complicates things.
Why readers love it: ARC readers seem to think it’s a classic Emily Henry story, clever, romantic, and layered. I love Emily Henry’s books. They’re totally book-themed love stories with lots of feel-good moments. Her 2024 release Funny Story was one of my favorites too.

Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney


Beautiful Ugly starts with Grady’s wife disappearing after a phone call that ends in silence. Her car is found near a cliff, the door open and her phone still inside but Abby is gone. A year later, Grady still can’t move on. Then he sees someone who looks just like her. He heads to a quiet island to clear his head, but nothing is as it seems.
Why readers love it: It’s twisty and unpredictable. This was one of my most anticipated thrillers of 2025, and it did not disappoint. I absolutely enjoyed this psychological thriller it was one of those unputdownable books I truly loved.

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood


Deep End follows Scarlett, a college diver who’s been laser-focused on getting into med school and recovering from the injury that almost ended her career. Romance isn’t part of the plan. Then she meets Lukas, an Olympic swimmer who’s just as intense and disciplined. They agree to a no-strings fling, but things get complicated fast. As they train side by side and secrets start to slip, it turns out their connection might be deeper than they expected.
Why readers love it: It’s got a sports setting, hot romance. I did notice it’s getting mixed reviews, so I’m a little curious about that. But I really enjoyed her 2024 release, Bride, one of the steamiest books I’ve ever read, so I’m definitely giving this one a shot.

Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Atmosphere is the story of Joan, who has always looked to the stars. A quiet professor in Texas, she gets the chance of a lifetime when NASA opens its doors to women scientists. She joins a group of new astronauts in the 1980s, training for missions while forming unexpected friendships and finding love along the way. But one mission will change everything.

Why readers love it: People are saying it feels like being dropped into a real moment in history. I love Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books, they’re fast-paced historical fiction I usually devour in a day. Her protagonists are bold, fearless, and unforgettable. So I am really looking forward to read this one.

Why readers love it: Readers seem to love the emotion and passion in the novel. I love sports romances. I find them inspiring and full of strong, memorable characters. I’m also expecting this book to be a mix of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & The Six.

Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister


Famous Last Words centers around Camilla who wakes up ready to go back to work after maternity leave, but her husband is missing. Then she hears he’s involved in a hostage situation. Why readers love it: I think everyone loves a suspenseful thriller that’s layered with just enough emotion to make it feel personal. This one reminds me of The Last Thing He Told Me, so I’m hoping for a fast-paced story with strong twists. I really enjoyed Wrong Place Wrong Time, so I’m going into this one with high expectations.

Rebel Witch  by Kristen Ciccarelli


Rebel Witch follows Rune, a witch on the run, who’s been through it with this guy she used to care about. Now she’s stuck working with him again, even though there’s a whole lot of history and tension between them. Things get messy fast, and they’ve got to figure out if they’re going to fix the world or just fall back into each other.
Why readers love it: It’s a swoon-worthy romantasy with lots of feel-good vibes. If you’re looking to read more fantasy romances in 2025, this is a good one to start with. I got into cozy fantasy books in 2024, so I’m pretty excited about this one too.

Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix


Witchcraft for Wayward Girls follows Fern who is fifteen, pregnant, and stuck at a home for girls who are supposed to give up their babies and forget it ever happened. But things change when she finds a strange book and starts to explore witchcraft.
Why readers love it: It’s dark horror fantasy with a mix of sisterhood, magic, and courage.This will be a great Halloween read for 2025.

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy

Why readers love it: People loved the beautiful writing and the eerie setting. And if you’re anything like me—always drawn to thrillers set on remote islands, you’ll probably love it too. The blurb actually gave me The Guest List by Lucy Foley vibes, so I can tell I’m going to love this one.

Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell


Don’t Let Him In is about what happens after Paddy dies in a train accident, and his wife and daughter receive a strange package from one of his old friends. That one little gift sets off a chain of events, and suddenly, nothing and no one is what they seemed. Three women are about to find out the cost of letting the wrong man in.
Why readers love it: It’s twisty and clever. As a huge Lisa Jewell fan, I can honestly say this is going to be one of the best thrillers of 2025. I basically love the way she writes twists and her messed-up characters. It’s also one of my most anticipated thrillers of 2025. Her 2024 release, None of This Is True, was one of the best thrillers I’ve read.

We All Live Here by Jojo Moyes


We All Live Here is about Lila whose life is mess. Her house is falling apart, her marriage is done, her job is shaky, and now her long-lost dad is back. She’s trying to hold her family together while dealing with all the chaos. But maybe the family she thought she had figured out still has something to teach her.
Why readers love it: It’s real, warm, and a little chaotic in a way that’s easy to relate to. If you’ve read Jojo Moyes before, you know she’s a master at writing strong female characters and great character development. Her novels are also some of the most uplifting books I enjoy reading.
